The fifth one

Weather: Breezy and summery
Listening to: Led Zeppelin box set

Perhaps I should rename this blog "the fearless writer" because it seems to me that to rack up massive word counts you need to be utterly certain that what you write is okay. There is no time to second guess, you must just keep going. I'm certainly not feeling fearless this week, as I have hit 50000 words and have an awful sinking feeling I've completely screwed up the chunk I've just written. I think I wrote it as "beginning" when it should have been "middle". Hmmm. They have different functions, you see. Now I'm not sure what goes in the middle.... sigh.

In good news, those little Fantastica books I wrote have attracted a very nice deal in France. I wrote them frantically, so it can't be all bad.

Remind me again. What are the Fantastica books about? That's great they have attracted a good deal in France.

50,000 words towards your next novel'Gold Dust'! Fabulous. Do you think the obvious section breaks will appear clearer once you have it all down on paper? Was that 150,000 words you need to push out before January?

I remember you saying that you like your narrative to be planned and pretty well mapped out before you start writing. Do you find that the hardest part is just getting a massive amount of words down on paper in the first draft? Isn't it important just to 'blah' everything out and then get back later to reorganising the material when you are working on such a large project?

Good to see your comments on this Blog, Kim. Useful for novices (like myself) and experienced writers alike.

Congratulations on the Fantastica deal.

Since they were written frantically - view the current m/s the ongoing race of Fantastica (in a totally different: genre, age range & complexity).

I will not be surprised to see you write that your Middle is indeed the middle (or the Middle-PartI) once you've got through Middle-Part II. If this WIP is anything like Rosa - you have a very good idea of where you're heading. Trust yourself :) (talk about pot calling kettle black *lol*)
